What to eat in LA: the Staples

When you think LA, what came to your mind first? ok, other than Hollywood... Let's talk about the food!

This is my Must-Try classic LA food list before I venture into California. Have I tried all? Nope... I was near to broke when I got there. However, what I do have, is a 10 years VISA.

1. Chili Dog at Pink's Hot Dogs

Started off as a pushcart near La Brea, the "Pink's Hot Dogs" had made it into the hearts of LA citizens, along with the Hollywood love story of Paul and Betty Pink. This landmark hotdog place in the Hollywood district is worth a visit even if you are not hungry.
Address: 709 N La Brea Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90039, United States

Hours: 9:30 AM – 2:00 AM

2. Dodger Dog at Dodger Stadium

The looney tunes introduced me to the Dodger. Established as the Brooklyn Dodger, the team moved to LA and the rest was history. The Dodger Dog is one of the must-do if you are up for a baseball game in Dodger Stadium. You can have your hot dog steamed, but the grilled ones are the "classic" version.
Address: 1000 Elysian Park Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90012, United States

3. Smoked Salmon Pizza at Spago

Come to Beverly Hills for lunch to taste the legendary Smoked Salmon Pizza. Disclaimer: It ain't cheap. A good spot for some LUX, you know, once in awhile.
“If you feel decadent, you can top the pizza with Sevruga, Beluga or Osetra caviar."

4. Chicken & Waffles

Fried chicken and waffles, what a weird combination. It reminds me of London's "Duck and Waffles", well EVEN weirder... but I guess unusual combination is a trend now, so if you have the S and the $ (time and money), why not? Afterall, it is, a LA staple.

5. A Original#19 sandwich at Langer's Deli

This is a pretty old/ historical place, serving LA’s best pastrami sandwich. Too bad my purse couldn't take the blow so I skipped it (It's pricey, $15). However, according to the reviews on yelp!, I'm pretty sure it is worth the $15.
Address: 704 S Alvarado St, Los Angeles, CA 90057, United States

Hours: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Menu: langersdeli.com

6. Office Burger at Father's Office

Heard so much hype about the Office Burger being the best burger in the area. The burger is savory, juicy and impressive indeed, this explains the craze. Although, I would say that it was a bit too greasy/messy for me. In another hand, the sweet potato fries with blue cheese aioli is to die for!
